About Release Strategy Pro
Strategic guidance rooted in lived experience

Meet Justin Paperny
Justin Paperny understands the justice system from the inside. A University of Southern California graduate and former stockbroker at Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, and UBS, he built early career success—until ethical lapses led to a 2007 guilty plea for securities fraud. In 2008, he began serving an 18-month sentence at the Taft Federal Prison Camp.
Since his release in 2009, Justin has devoted his career to helping people navigate the criminal justice system. He is the author of Lessons From Prison and Ethics in Motion, has lectured at the FBI Academy, and his work has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, Fox News, and on Dr. Phil.
He co-founded the nonprofit Prison Professors to make justice-system education freely available, alongside White Collar Advice. Through Release Strategy Pro, a sponsor of the Prison Professors Charitable Corp, Justin offers optional, structured guidance for those who want interactive, question-driven support.
Experience & Credentials
Our Mission
Why Release Strategy Pro Exists
Prison Professors provides free educational content that helps people at many stages of their justice journey. Some individuals want interactive support in applying those resources to their specific situations. Release Strategy Pro exists to offer that option in a structured, disciplined way.
Our Commitment
We believe in providing guidance that is honest, clear, and grounded in experience—not promises or guarantees of outcomes. Our sessions are designed to help individuals think through decisions and understand how to use available tools and resources.
Our Values
Honesty
We tell you what you need to hear, not what's easy to hear.
Clarity
The justice system is complex. We focus on clear, understandable steps.
Respect
We respect your autonomy, your intelligence, and your capacity to act.
