Meet Michael Santos
Michael Santos understands the justice system from the inside. At age 23, he began serving a 45-year federal sentence. During his incarceration, he focused on learning and self-development—earning a bachelor's degree from Mercer University and a master's degree from Hofstra University.
Over 26 years in federal custody, Michael wrote numerous books and hundreds of articles about the American prison system. Through his writing and service, he developed practical approaches that have helped thousands of people navigate their justice-related challenges.
Since his release, Michael has dedicated his life to helping others apply free educational resources and make informed decisions. He founded Prison Professors to provide education at no charge. Through Release Strategy Pro, a sponsor of the Prison Professors Charitable Corp, Michael offers optional, structured guidance for those who want interactive, question-driven support.
